As a child in the 1960s, they were not allowed to wear jeans or play football, instead being directed toward activities like field hockey. This pattern continued through school, where education focused on rote learning rather than personal growth or self-discovery.
Military service further reinforced this rigid conformity, and later, in both small businesses and multinational corporations, they felt pressured to align with company culture despite their role in innovation.
Ultimately, the author reflects on how they were conditioned from childhood to meet external expectations, living a life dictated by others. They challenge the societal obsession with fitting in and call for breaking free from these limitations, urging others to dismantle the straitjackets.
